Karen Castanho is a founding partner of Biônica Filmes, responsible for strategy and and Business Affairs. Karen is also in charge of Biônica’s national and international co-productions. She has a vast network of partners and sponsors which enables Biônica Filmes to have long-lasting agreements. Karen is also committed to the development of new projects, researching unique stories relatable with an audience. Her negotiation skills, transparency and search for excellence resulted in important partnerships such as Globo Filmes and Mauricio de Sousa Produções, with whom Biônica Filmes produced several films. In 2022 Biônica celebrates 10 years of existence releasing Charcoal, the first collaboration with Carolina Markowicz, Pedro Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, by Lais Bodanzky and Welcome Violeta, by Fernando Fraiha.
