Graduated from ECA-USP and completed her master's degree in Cultural Heritage, Landscapes and Citizenship at Univ. Federal de Viçosa (UFV), where she reserached contemporary film production in Mozambique. In 2017, she created the production platform SANCHO&PUNTA, through which she produced films such as INVISIBLE, by Argentine Pablo Giorgelli (Orizzonti - Venice Film Festival 2017), ONTEM HAVIA COISAS ESTRANHAS NO CÉU, by Bruno Risas (Cinéma du Réel 2020 - Best First Film), THE EMPLOYER AND THE EMPLOYEE, by Uruguayan Manuel Nieto (Cannes Directors' Fortnight 2021) and PRIVATE FOOTAGE, by Janaína Nagata (IDFA 2022 - The Beeld & Geluid Reframe Award). Among her projects in production are WHITE ROSES FALL! by Albertina Carri, in co-production with Argentina and Spain, PAINLESS, by Michael Wahrmann, ALL THAT YOU COULD BE, by Ricardo Alves Jr. and 2019, by Affonso Uchôa. She is a Berlinale Talents 2019 alumni and collaborates with the production company OUBLAUM FILMES (Portugal).

Julia was awarded a fellowship to attend the EAVE Producers Workshop, in Luxembourg.
